Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is an international community service sorority comprised of over 125,000 women predominantly of African descent. Encouraging young people to achieve academic excellence is a primary focus of our organization.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, Rho Omega Zeta Chapter (Long Island, NY) supports this focus by awarding our annual "Mate Masie" Scholarship. Mate Masie is the West African, Adinkra Symbol of The Ashanti meaning wisdom, knowledge and prudence. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating female high school senior of African descent. This high school senior has been accepted to an accredited four-year undergraduate institution full-time.
